gone.

she backs up in to the corner.
he slowly follows,
his gaze set on her face
closer and closer he comes
inches away from her body
he smiles.
slowly, he caresses her face
traces his fingers alongside her jaw bone
and slowly down to her neck,
as he heavily whispers words in to her ears
that fill her eyes with tears.
both hands now.
he is not gentle
she can’t breathe.
he tightens his grip
can’t let her go
staring straight in to her eyes
as her pupils shrink.
she reaches her hand out
gasping for air
clawing at his hands
trying to pull them away
but no, he holds on
tighter and tighter
until her body goes limp…
She is gone.

don't come back.
sm Aug 2014
It is quiet and she is alone.
Sitting on her bed, hearing nothing but the sounds of cars in the distance. She didn’t think he’d return, but he did. He came when she least expected, just as he always does. And despite her usual efforts to kick him out, he stays. An unwelcome guest who stays a little too long. What she doesn’t like to admit though, is that despite the years where it felt like an abusive relationship, things have changed and slowly turned in to a love-hate one. She doesn’t always hate his arrival anymore, doesn’t always hate his company. Sometime he gives her peace. He makes her feel like no one else could. Like no one else even knows how. In the silence of the darkness, she sometimes appreciates his company. He makes her heart feel so raw, makes her think things she normally wouldn’t. & when he’s gone, she’s happy for a while. But deep inside she knows, that she’s beginning to forget what it’s like to live without him. So she waits for his arrival, and she knows that for the time being, he’ll always return.
