How do you sing a song
At three am
When candlelight monsters dance
And moonlight sunbeams pass
At three am
How do you hear the silence
In the thunder clouds screams
At three am
With a fragrance of desperation
Chimes of broken clocks sound
At three am
The northern factory haunts
The ghost of community laughs
At three am
Someone drinks in the past
Careless and fortuned
I do find that the tired mind opens the door to a world of colour

Passed  a  neglected  garden  of  late.
It  seemed  in  quite  a  sorry  state.
Some  men  came  to  make  some  notes.
But  seemed  to  give  it  little  thought.
Up  on  high  the  grasses  grow.
Beneath  the  windows  row  by  row.
The  other  plants  just  cry  with  pain.
I  guess  we'll  never  grow  again.
They  have  taken  up  our  space  on  the  ground
Like  an  advancing  army  I'll  be  bound.
They  are  taking  our  water  Oh  my.
As  they  journey  to  the  sky.
Perhaps  it  soon will  be  resolved.
And  peace  will  reign.
Once again

Dolefully trudge to my chamber this night.
Carrying burden of this inimical plight.
Scrawling as a means to drop this weight light.
But alas, who will read these words that I write?

I heard a man putting ladders up outside
Probably to clean the gutters
He suddenly appeared at my window
"Hello" he said
"I'm Father Christmas
I'm just practising"
A True Story ...... This actually happened one day at my window.  I thought it was funny.
What's a poet without sadness,
Madness ?
