Soulless
Beneath the stars, the world is calm and still,
A quiet breath that whispers through the night.
The moonlight casts a glow on every hill,
As dreams take flight beneath its silver light.

The winds, they speak in soft and gentle tones,
And dance with leaves that flutter through the air.
In sleep’s embrace, the weary heart atones,
To rest in peace, free from all earthly care.

The dawn will rise, but now the night is here,
A time for dreams to whisper soft and low.
With every breath, the dark is drawing near,
And all is calm, as stars begin to glow.

So close your eyes and let the world drift by,
For dreams are waiting where the shadows lie.

Maryann I
Dear little one,
I wish I could tell you who you were meant to be,
but I never had the chance to meet you.
You were supposed to laugh without hesitation,
to dance barefoot in the grass,
to wake up without the weight of the world
pressed against your chest.

You were supposed to dream
without fearing the fall,
to believe in love
without flinching at its touch.
You should have known kindness
without conditions,
safety without apologies,
home without war.

But they took you from me
before you ever had a chance to breathe.
They stole your voice
and left me with the echoes,
turned your soft hands into fists,
your open heart into armor.

I search for you in the quiet,
in the spaces between my ribs,
but all I find are ghosts—
memories that were never made,
a life that was never lived.

I carry you still,
even in the ruins,
even in the spaces where childhood should have been.
And if I could,
I would build you a home in my arms,
rock you to sleep with a lullaby
you were never sung.

I cannot bring you back,
but I can promise this:
I will live for us both.
I will find the softness the world denied you,
and I will whisper your name
into the wind—
so you know you were never forgotten.
This is a letter to the child I never got to be—the version of me who should have known love without conditions, safety without fear, and joy without pain. This is for them, for the life they never had.

My eyes have seen evil,
But I hoped for the best;
I planted the seed
Of love where I could.
I did not see the extent
of my works manifest;
I did not play the reaper
I inclined to do good.

I did not eat or savour
The fruit of my labour
It was my job to sow
And let the seed grow.
Time is a cruel master
It continues to flow
The difference I made
My heart does not know.

I didn't want glory
nor a large sum of money
but an honourable discharge
and my sins to be waived.
Now I'm nearing the grave
and I'm beginning to see
All the love I gave,
I did it for me!

Your story is interesting
Unique and brilliant
No need to omit it
Glory is imminent
The people against you
Have all been defeated

You are very much needed
Love is the only emotion
That makes one experience every other emotion combined in one

It takes one's honour
It takes one's soul

It makes one go from a blooming flower
To a flameful burnt flower
It puts a smile on one's face but brings rain into their heart

Love's fresh
But
Then
It
Rots
It heals
but
Then
It
Bleeds

And love makes one experience it all
All in one
All at once
