your eyes. they meet my gaze
watching me. seeing.
you are there. with me.

your eyes. watch him pass
watching him. seeing.
you were here. with me.

my eyes. watch the wrist.
watching it. seeing.
you aren't here. with me.

the blade. slices the skin.
watching it. seeing.
the blood drains. onto me.
Just pull on the handle made of brass
And peer through the looking glass
What if i told you, nothing is real?
Would that give you the urge to reach out and feel?
But what would you hold in that touch?
If you ask me, its really not much
Inside the looking glass, everything is changed
Compared to our world, its rearranged
But the people who live there, dont have a clue
Of who we are, and what we do
But when you stop and break your gaze
the imprint of this new world stays
Maybe i should put a lock on this door
That led you to this unknown floor
Some people just cant stay away
For they still come here to this very day
To leave this place, just close your eyes
You will think you saw my lies
But one day, you will return
It wont be easy, but you will learn
A porcupine skin,
Stiff with bad tanning,
It must have ended somewhere.
Stuffed horned owl
Pompous
Yellow eyed;
Chuck-wills-widow on a biased twig
Sooted with dust.
Piles of old magazines,
Drawers of boy's letters
And the line of love
They must have ended somewhere.
Yesterday's Tribune is gone
Along with youth
And the canoe that went to pieces on the beach
The year of the big storm
When the hotel burned down
At Seney, Michigan.
Have you ever looked up at the sky
Have you ever believed that you could fly
Have you ever seen a plane go by and wonder who was in there
What their lives were and how they would fair

Is it human nature or is it our choice
Why can't we stop war, make peace, and hear that tiny voice
Its a small world and isn't there but one race
We're all humans and why can't we keep the same pace
I know that smile,
I used to wear it all the time.

It illuminates your face,
Just as it used to illuminate mine.

From ear-to-ear, you grin,
Followed by laughter you can not stop.

Your eyes, they twinkle,
Like they had stars on top.

My smile is not as bright these days,
But I am happy for you.

You are young, you are foolish,
Do the silly things that I would do.

Be kind to your smile,
Don't let it sour like a lime.

I know that smile,
I used to wear it all the time.
Always in the background
never gaining a second glance
people do what they think is required of them
but I never get the chance

I see you in the reflection
of the person you wish I could be
I honestly don't think I have
the ability to change

The Strength in me has waned
to the point it physically hurts to smile
knowing that around the corner...
wishing I could fall into the endless black

to relieve the stress I always seem to manage
on everyone else, to leave their lives
they would grieve, for a little while
but I could be a part of something... else.

time is endless
all powerful
yet completely relative
I can recognize the hate in myself
I see the choices lay out before me
I am almost the person of my worst nightmares
and am entirely clueless about how to get back
when I am hanging of the edge with one finger
attached to a very thin fraying thread...
Anonymous!

Tell me what's her name my friend.
The one who stole your heart away.
Noisy siren, snatched your beautiful heart.
Entrapped in words ideal.
She powered by a pen.
Ignited by war my child.

Sometimes fired from summer sun.
Winter rain.
Hailstones biting.
Causing pain.
Sometimes cruel and vile.
Human love discarded.
Dumped on the pile

Words strung on a harpsichord score.
Lost love has a date with destiny.
Destiny wholly untrue.
Two anonymous writers.
Write day and night.
Sort of seeking recognition.

Potential footsteps lead to perdition.
Hope and pray not.
Their only prey is words.
My soliloquy she cries in solitude.
Solipsist by choice.
In her sophistication!
