Let's open a book
and read the first page.
Once upon a time
in a long forgotten age
there lived a young girl
she didn't possess any magic powers
and she lived in a house
not locked in a tower
in fact that girl
why she could even be you
let's imagine she is
and make this story come true.
You could be my Snow White
the most beautiful of them all
or you could be my evil queen
your jealousy will be your downfall.
You could be my Cinderella
your true beauty will be revealed at midnight
or you could be my Rapunzel
your hair truly is a magnificent sight.
You could be my Alice
lost in a wonderland inside your head
or you could be my sleeping beauty
exploring new lands while asleep in your bed.
You could be my little mermaid
with your enchanting voice
or you could just be yourself
because honestly that would be my choice...

I love you
And when I say that
I mean that I will always forgive you,
And that I will always see the best in you
And that I can never stand to be angry at you.
I love you,
And I will prove it every day
Whether or not you even notice.
I love you
In a way that scares me
And should scare you too
Because if I had the power to destroy the world for your sake
I might just do it
And have no regrets,
And all that said, I want you to know
That when I say I love you
The faith in my words comes from a place of knowledge,
Not foolishness,
From a place that has been ransacked and raided and razed,
From a city that has been burnt and rebuilt so many times that
The ash in the soil could grow a forest in a day.
This love comes from a wise place,
Not a naive one.
And yeah,
It's still here.
i do not know yet if i believe in love but i believe in the sound of your laughter because it makes me happy when you're happy and i know that i love looking at you when you're tired and when you're happy and when you're not paying attention but i hate looking at you when you're sad because it feels like someone put icicles in my chest and your eyes may not have killed me when i left you but what did was the way that your arms hung limply when i hugged you goodbye. i believe in the way that i could not stop comparing his eyes to yours his hands to yours his hugs to yours and how it was not okay to me because maybe there is one single person on this big green earth that is meant for me and i do not yet know if i believe in that but i know that if soulmates exist, then out of all the people i have met in this life, mine is undeniably and without a doubt  you
come over
and we'll play scrabble
and drink cheap wine
until we're both too weary
to remember
that we're just friends.
short scribbles // late night fantasies
When all the magic is gone
we will crawl from checkpoint to checkpoint
with dull great white eyes
always hungry
always starving ourselves
gotta look good for the summer
when all the magic is gone
we will howl out for sacrifice
it’s shoe harvesting season
and you’ve gotta cop some of this crop
when all the magic is gone
the national anthem will change with top 100
and when the air is stale
the prophets and poets will be driven out of town
to test their mettle in uncaring wilderness
when the magic is gone
we will hail the president on bended knee - blindfolded
when the magic is gone
everything will be trending
and nobody will give a ****
so get your abra kadabras in now
you don’t know how much magic we have left
you have that good sense of balance
affecting us at one glance

you have that awareness in danger
like a body within a solid timber

you look so gentle
like a baby blowing her first birthday cake's candle

you have the crown
that gives you strength to not frown

you have that unalterable aura
the way you look so optimistic
like you hold nothing but all the brightness in this world

you have that absolute fineness
like an angel floating down so perfectly

yes you are,
yes it's you,
and your smile,
that says it all
