Sorry to bother you
but I just have to say,
you bear a striking resemblance
to someone I knew once...

Were you there?

Were you there?
Probably not, but I confess

that it's refreshing to see
such familiar eyes on a strange face.
I'd drink it all in
if it wasn't probably laced.

Give it time.

I'll build up an immunity,
maybe even an affinity.
I'll drink your poison,
convince myself it's medicine,

If I could only get a proper dose.
A spontaneous poem I threw together off the top of my head.

Trying to work on not thinking so much about what I write and just tapping into the stream of consciousness.

Ciel Noir
What other kind              of creature could divide
Each different thing             into its different sides
With chaos versus             order, dark and light
The stark duality of         wrong and right
We even split the very        world in two
With human versus human,       we and you
But still no matter how much      we divide
Each thing has infinitely many      sides

A Slow Heyoka
When I was younger
I thought that tree stumps
were fairy dining tables
I dreamt about inviting
guests to lavish parties
So I ate jam tarts
every time the sun set
And drank ten bottles
of Kool Aid for a bet
I didn’t regret a single sip
but I think the adult inside me
wished I did
Pressing on regardless
into an infinite described
by fluttering eyelids
like moth wings in moonlight
The shutters flapped open,
close, open, close
And the spirit felt known
Part of a collaborative project at a local writing retreat. Its not all mine.can you guess which parts are?

Fresh was the day
As I stepped out
Upon my way
My mind devout
And set to task
Of walking far
Of seeing birds
Avoiding car
I wanted grass
Below my feet
Nature raw
I wished to meet
So there I stood
In cold fresh air
And after time
Had not a care
As out in fields
And woods l walked
I listened well
As nature talked
It healed my heart
It made me new
That cool fresh wind
Spoke as it blew.

i hunger for the zest of life – life at its fullest
i thirst for liberty – spreading my wings
i want to lose myself to this impulsive world of opportunity;
feeling the electricity beneath my feet.
