Pacific soul
Rameen Aslam Jun 2021
When I sailed through the oceans of your vivid eyes
I had my guards on and my hands were holding spikes
My ship trembled by thé vigour of your swaying waves
My oars lost with every stroke of love you unknowingly gave
My love,  slaying the peace within my silent heart
I am tied to your malevolent soul and can never stay apart.

One for you
Rameen Aslam Feb 2021
Has it ever occurred to you?
I was the only one for you
One with the love in hand
Ready to give it all away
Ready to fall apart again
Ready to cry in beds again
Ready to give myself again
Has it ever occurred to you?
You let me slip when I was tied to you.

Thunderstorms
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
I was Never afraid of thunderstorms
I walked right into them
I walked all over them
I guess I was lucky , “never been hit.”
Until I got my first strike and every bit
Of my beautiful mind and beguiling smiles
Turned into nothing but dust and ashes.
I guess I was wrong back then about the crashes
For Now I wish the storms shall pass
And hope the storms won’t last.
But who am I fooling ?
They shall surely last
And they shall never pass.

Defining love
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
For love is undeniably painful yet irresistibly alluring.
Love of all sentiments is the strangest . You can’t resist it . You can’t help it.

A touch
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
A touch calmer than a tornado
Across the neck , shivered through my spine
Breaths louder than a rain storm
Pulsating wrist, sweats, those dilated pupils
Prolonged stare fixed for a minute or two
I was lost under deep oceans of calm blues
A kiss, it replenished my cold thirsty lips
I'd die to stay in a loop forever in his

Loudest Cry
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
I had too much to say yet too little I could comprehend
Had my hands swinging in the air but tied with metal cuffs and restraints
Apparently I sang out loud , the world could hear my melodious voice
They only heard it masked over, it was indeed my loudest cry.

Nostalgia
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
His melody , that smooth jazz , his "voice"
I danced to it all night, bare and wild
We played it on repeat, on my old pod
Where we had our perfect songs and crazy delights

I kept that gramophone we bought in our century , I still play our serene songs among our love and tragedies.

When the night was dark , there was no moonlight, I couldn't find my pod or gramophone , yet I look for stars in the pitch black sky.

To the songs we cherished and loved in our delightful days , now we rewind our musical memories for a fraction of time ,when we have no shoulder and no other choice

Stuck in Past
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
I never would've thought I would miss those butterflies in my stomach and skipping heartbeats from my early twenties
Those Sunday morning coffees and late
night talks
Those rusty old cars we drove to strange bars.
I never would've imagined, I would wish to turn back time , to the era where we were still young and fine.
Those Monday morning classes and evening cricket matches.
Those thrifty little rides and we sat
down by the tides.
I never would've thought I would miss that time.

Under the Feet
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
Piece of an old paper crumpled up
Scattered on the road to the dark cliff
And it wasn't enough for the punishment of honesty
It appeared to them as a felony but it was merely a melody
So they walk all over me , leaving me crunched under their feet
Now I live here , here in the rendezvous of weights weighing down on me

Lover’s Eyes
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
I could dig for a thousand reasons not to love you
But my heart seem to find brown eyes and a beautiful mind enough for the cause

Happily Ever After
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
I wish we were in one of those
Hollywood movies  where there's always
in some way
A happily ever after.

Sand in Velvet Hands
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
Beware,  for  I am sand in your velvet hands
By the beach you found me lying near clear waters
Gathered my flecks on your way to play volley
I was cheerful and in tears, I was finally together in your arms
I adored the way your touch toughened me up for a while
I know that the clock ticks as you play with my shines
Don't let your fingers move apart, don't suffocate my broken parts
And if you may decide to let go of me , let it be forever in the deep blue sea

When I die
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
It shivers down my spine , the wrenching idea of death but if It is ought to be,
let it be in your arms eternally

Stay
Rameen Aslam Aug 2020
Can't you stay a little longer
Long enough to imprint your humble touch
Before you're gone, gone for good
To the world where no one knows your name
Know you like my nerves did
Favourite cars to your wildest dreams
Perfect song to your crazy love
To my long lost heart , I said it out loud
Can't you stay a little longer
Can't you stay a little longer

— The End —
