Tis funny ,
Is it not?
Us quote: (Hopeless romantics) still hold onto hope,

Such a paradox!!!

A B Perales
I watched more
planes criss cross
the sky today.

Planes without
destinations ,passengers
or reasons why.

Planes that leave behind
thick lines across our skies
like a destructive hand
with graffitti.

There's no more floating
dogs or drifting ,parting
dancing girls.
No more summer flowers
or slowly gliding flying
cars.

The clouds above
the city don't
form the different shapes
like they used to do.
envy the rural living.

make some.

walk the dunes
each day,
know the places,
to stop,
where berries grow.

where the photograph tree
knows,
what lays beneath.

look at each gentle place,
to keep in a pocket
of love,for that rainy
day, you do not go.

then in mine, in honour
walk the place in mind.

Hold my thoughts and grasp my mind
amidst the closing of the day
to see the world as we rewind
the many songs of yesterday.

No rhyme nor words
nor furtive overture
could halt, subvert,
this promised adventure;

With light comes night danced Sol et Luna
in blind embrace, they chase in earnest.
Though paths unchanged through all millennia,
they meet, eclipsed, in solemn darkness.

Like scarlet streaks on dawn-break skies
and sun-kissed peaks in summer,
you'll lose yourself in truths, not lies,
and tales told non sequitur

or warm embers on winter nights
and fireflies in the distance-
you'd know that things would be alright,
that life won't fade this instance.

Alas I'm but a simple man
with magic in my pen.
I'd write loose lines with feeble hand
with thoughts that spring like winter wren.

We had no cooler.
It gets to be 115 degrees
in Tucson in the summer.
The company that came out
to fix it said that it was
beyond repair.
That we'd have to look into getting
our complete electrical system
replaced along with the cooler.
(we live in a historic home
built in 1907... the electrical
systems were put in in 1920
and have not been renovated since)

A fire trap you may say.
And an insoluble problem.

We had a master electrician who
happens to be a good friend.
The problem was fixed
within an hour.

We would have had to
leave our house and sell it at
a loss as a fix-er-upper.

OUR COOLER NOW WORKS
AND WE CAN STAY.
AND MY PARENTS CAN STAY ON
IN THEIR HOMESTEAD!

MY FATHER IS 90
AND THE MOVE WOULD HAVE
KILLED HIM.

PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Rain pours down in endless flows,
puddles every where I see
Still your love so brightly glows,

Am I thinking about you?
Yes, I am.

*"Love her!"
It is wonderful how a simple message
received from her can make me smile so big.  :)

Those lost

Drying in the sun
   on a beaten path
bruised and stained
   by faded  blooms
crushed beneath
   the falling night
of a desperate moon
   hiding within
the memories of
   those lost
So many lives were lost in the flooding in Texas. It breaks my heart.
