They said we would be happy

A decadent lie doused in the bitterness of your first shot of *****,

And the next 8 that follow

Drowning your sorrows,

Swallowing your drink to cover up the memories

Memories of a happy family that was really just broken, bursting at the seams.

You drink to hide the pain of the lies and broken promises,

The trust that can’t be restored and the minds that can’t be cleaned

Of this filthy ******* mess called life.
Just a little something I wrote a while back before my most recent year long writers block :/
