As I lay next to you, stroking the tips of my fingers against your scratchy jaw I try to memorize you with touch.

But it wasn't enough so I leaned a little closer, pulled your body further into mine.

Breast to chest, lips to neck, I inhaled you.

Dizzy, from the heady aroma your soul expelled  I dug my face deeper into the curve of your neck.

Curling my fingers into your messy hair, I was content.
Because even as the world moved beneath us we remained still.
