Never knowing to be free
Collecting dew drops all to see
Raindrops pooling through the past
Seabird sits atop tall mast
As if in answer echoes float
Beside tall reed banks so remote
Mainstream life it floats on by
As ripples washed like tears do cry
Smooth lake surface shines like glass
Soft breeze rustles thought the trees
White caps dance on muted seas
Whilst each new day brings its reprieve
Watching sunsets all alone
Wishing for those times unknown
Where now the chance the road to see
Who now to share this place with me
Knowing only time will tell
Patiently waiting fates soft bell
Somehow hopeful through lifes storm
One day we will hear each other’s call
And when we meet in bright sunshine
Your reflection matching mine
Upon this very day you seek
The wasted years will seem less bleak
