Words were all we had
So long ago
Echoes of the destitute heart
The ramblings of an arrogant poet

You thought of me as the prophet
Foretelling a future that would never be
You discovered the truth and left
Leaving me to wander the desert

A parched soul
Hungering for the tangible
In an intangible world
Will this journey last another forty years?
