Pessimism..
What is pessimism?
Pessimism is when effort isn’t.
It’s when the darkest roads
inside the tunnels that you drive
feel safer than your destination

It’s when that internal fear of peace
Sabotages your beliefs
so you refuse to listen..
It’s when that voice of reason
in you're head
becomes a danger to your safety
So you decide to give in,
to pessimism..

Pessimism..

When every new light
feels surrounded by darkness
Every new height
keeps you grounded at bottom
And every road traveled, no doubt,
has road damage regardless..

Ya it’s easy to say that nothing works out
because your own self-sabotage
seems like the safer route
Even when you know
that quitting isn’t an option..

So as you repair your own optics
let this water your garden:
Baby put down those narcotics..
Because there’s an end to that bottle
And it ain’t what you’re wanting.
This life is the gift that you’re given
for you to understand the lows
make you appreciate the highs
And to understand the highs
make you appreciate the climb..
And to learn the sharpest knowns
come from the darkest moments
for you to appreciate your shine
So let your heart and mind align
To stop from only always being tired..
And only ever grow higher
only ever grow upwards..
only ever grow wiser.

Pessimism

When that optimism seems lost in your storm..
Realize that it’s yourself that’s been there
For you all along..
All you needed
was a little push towards the light
A little push to realize
That after all
In the end
..everything will all be alright..
It’ll all be alright.
A contrast poem to my previous poem “Optimism”.
