We are alike, as
We are made of
The same soil that was
From the part of
Earth, gritty and harsh,
Unwieldy yet malleable.

Taking form not easily
But once made, stable.
Eyes reflecting the soul,
And heart the love
That lies there and more;
Straining at the load,
But not breaking over.

Holding on to hope ,
Being the anchor
That keeps the whole
From drifting off the shore,
That's us, that's for sure.
