his strong hands
and lustful eyes
they scour her body
despite her cries

they leave a shell
a broken girl
they've taken much
her toes uncurl

such mixed emotions
her heart is shattered
her body broken
her brain is scattered

his violent actions
they haunt her still
she wonders if
they always will

a girl so young
a girl untainted
now with shame
she's well acquainted

now with fear
she takes a vow
no one comes in
no one's allowed

no one will hurt her
not like he did
no one will enter
her heart unbid

the ones who try
they meet a wall
a sturdy one
it's strong and tall

but how she longs
for it to break
a few kind words
will make it shake

perhaps there's hope
perhaps she'll heal
for in her heart
she longs to feel

to feel God's love
and mercy too
to have her heart
be made anew

and in the newness
she will rest
for God's word says
she will be blessed
