When I held you for the first time
Felt my hands full of gold mine
When I kissed you for the first time
I’ve tasted sweetness of wine.

The moment I heard your laughter
My whole world seemed a shutter
The moment I saw you somber
My heart shed with flowing water.

By the time you learned to talk
Taught you the words in the book
As I watched you learn to walk
Eyes are on to take a look.

Trained you with all the good things
So tomorrow gives you something
Kept you away from the bad things
For they’re only good for nothing.

Worked all day with all my might
Didn’t care though it’s midnight
And said, I’ll morning the nights
Just to give you all your rights.

But as the time passes by
This went wrong; I asked God, why?
He uttered and made a sigh
Why don’t you ask yourself, why?

And when I opened my eyes
‘Twas then that I realize
My treasure has turned to ice
It’s late to apologize.
This poem is written as a wake-up call for parents who may have lost time for their children.  If we really love our children and consider them as our treasure, then let us give them the most precious gift we could give to them, our TIME.  Our children badly need it.  Thanks for reading and visiting my page.
