The City feels dense. Dust was
whirled up
stirred-

I can't breathe.

I see it coming.

I can't breathe.

I see paranoia
I see people
doing what they are told

I can't breathe.

I see fear
manifested
externalised

I can't breathe.

I hear voices singing
repeated songs
I read
repeated
memes and phrases

I can't breathe.

I see
millions of
masked faces
masked children who
were forced to play
grown-ups
premature
stuffed into lives
too scary
yet

I can't breathe.

I
see
behind every mask
a pair of
child eyes

They cannot breathe.

I
walk
steadily
stretch out my
hand
to
pull

off their
mask

Breathe.

I say

Breathe.

LIVES matter.
I am shocked.
