Stuck in the past you look aghast at what already passed
Your brain relentlessly reminds you
Blinded by what’s behind you
You cannot look ahead
Trapped in needless tread
Stuck inside your head

Freedom’s found not from the future
But from finally finding the present
The now that shows you how to turn your head around
To leave what’s done as done
Shut off the nagging re-run
Open your eyes to the sun
Now you have beautifully begun

The moment surrounds
Clears away clouds
Fog fades away
Dismissed by the day
And freed from your chains
Only options remain
A blissful release
What I would call peace
