With your rhymes
and your considered lines
and your riches of thought
and nuanced life

Hammered I would
given the chance
your existence
flattened

I'm not
belonging

and that is a bell
around  my neck
badged for death
hung with your name

and a sigh
time slipping
out of your pocket
into mine

some notes lie
in sound and sense
leaving you feeling
whole
