In ancient days, God used to live in temple. We have heard of may stories that a man sat in Temple and asked for a boon. After few days of prayer, God Appeared and bestowed upon the person , the desired boon.

There are many instances , which are found mention in old Ancient Sacred books.

Presently , when we go to temple and try to see the god, we never find any traces of God , do you know why?

Actually once upon a time, God was tired of increasing demands of  human. Lots of human were going to Temple and asking for boons.

Somebody was asking for money. Somebody was desirous of power. While some body was asking for mental peace.

Because of increasing demands of the human, the God become restless and wanted to take mental peace.

Having seen this, Saitan approached the God and asked him , the reason for his restlessness.

The God replied that because of increasing demands of human, he was becoming restless.

God sought advise of Saitan, please tell me place, where human could not reach easily.

Saitan replied that he would tell the safest place, only in case God would allow the saitan to live in Temple.

God Agreed.

Saitan replied that it is the heart of human, which was the safest place.

Human would go every where, but would never search in his heart.
The answered of Saitan satisfied the God.

From that time God started to live in hearts of every human being.

And as per the agreement, the God had left the place of Temple for Saitan.

This is why God do not live in temple.
