The flowers told me about you
about how graceful was your step.
They said their petals descended,
covering the surface of your toes
and their stalks crippled
and their roots ****** from beneath your heels.
You didn’t see how light came
the foot of an angel.
You didn’t see how hefty
was the corruption of the soil
and how sunk,
acute,
was the wounding of my heart.
