I waited too long for this.
For you, for us.
My breath is uneasy,
so I take a deep breathe and step into the cafΓ© we agreed to meet in.
Apparently it’s a cold night,
but im too nervous and sweaty to notice.
I look around, but I can't see you.
I hear you sing and my heart skips a beat,
you knew I was here.
I followed the sound of your voice,
and I realized I knew this song,
you wrote it for me; it's our story.
Finally, I see you,
you're playing the piano as you sing with a wide smile on your face
as you've always loved to;
as we loved to.
Waiters are pacing around me,
they move from one full table to another.
It's crowded and my anxiety wants to kick in, but I focus on you,
singing our song.

You glanced at me, and I froze.
Two years have passed since I last saw you,
three years since I last talked to you,
and seven since I last told you I loved you.
Not one second has it been since I first hated you,
although I tried,
all my attemps were in vane,
truth is I just can't;
because seven-teen years have gone by since I first loved you.

I'm blushing and I can feel it, I hope no one notices;
It's blurry, so my eyes are tearing up,
my heart beats loud enough for the waitresses to hear,
but I smile,
I can't help it.
I am happy.

I don't miss you anymore,
you're finally here.
Tears run down my cheeks,
as I stand here looking at you, look at me.

But I wait,
I must wait.
I use every ounce of strength I was given to not run towards you.
So I wait,
I wait for you to come,
I wait for you to hold me and not let go.
Yet, once again, this is where my fantasy ends.
I wipe off my tears with my hands
and go on with my day.
