shock power is welcome
shiver me out my complacency

rock me out my safe zone
make me blush at my own prudish

kick me when I am standing too tall for my own good
and shout down my refusal to change

ignore me when I think I am at most right
do not succour my self delusion

call me stupid and call me out
when I writhe on the ground in self pity.

and if ever I should begin to think I am a poet
walk away in silence.
