I just wanted to lend a helping hand
To be the one there;
When you needed someone.
You went and broke my heart into two;
Like a piece of oak under an axe.
You let me go;
Like a child does a balloon.
Yet, I was always there;
Even though you were nowhere in sight.
I gave you my loving arms;
Yet you rejected them.
I was a crying newborn;
You were an ungrateful mother.
I was vulnerable;
You took advantage.
However, I will always love you;
No matter how much you hurt me.
My heart is made of glass;
Yours of steel.
