Failure
Failure
It's such a big word
One you'd try to avoid
If you knew how bad it was
Failure means trying
And good on you for that
Failure means losing
And it hurts so bad
Failure is not something anyone aims for
You never set out to meet
But sometimes it sweeps right in
And knocks you off your feet
Uninvited
Unplanned
You don't expect it
But fear it's presence
Lest it be forever
The defining before and after
There's no going back after this
Once you take that chance, it could really be over
The be all
And end all
Of possibilities you only dreamed of
The one where all the doors could be opened or slammed shut
