Listless
I've been in worse places before,
And I can feel myself tugging on the ropes
To pull me out of it.
I feel alone,
Even when you're here.
The weeks seem longer,
The days seem like two at once,
I just want you to touch me,
Remind me that this is real.
But you're distant,
And I'm trying too hard.
I try not to cry,
And I try to be cute,
And I try to be sociable,
And I try to be smart.
But all I do is cry.
Maybe you won't be so distant
Forever,
But it sure hurts
Right now.
