Call her by the name of greek goddesses
She once painted the letters:
APHRODITE
Across her toenails
What about the last toe?, I asked
Someone responded
“she would polish it so she could mirror
the smile of the owl”
what a group I thought as I combed my
hair back with their satin words

I love just wasting away here
In the split gold jewel explosions of poverty
