When the summer warmth cools by day
And the tan of skin starts to fade
When the nights start to chill
And the rain starts at will

When trees  start to shed their leaves
As though they cry golden tears
And the dawn wakes a little later
The nights draw close as we come into winter

Ice upon our window sills
Birds don't sing , it is quiet and still
That nip in the air as you look to the sky
And you can't believe that summer just flew by

Out comes gloves and scarfs and coats
As summers sweet kisses turn cold
You feel the chill upon your spine
When you finally accept its wintertime
