Warm Afternoon

It was a really  warm  afternoon

Almost  like  summer
Stayed  out  for  q­uite  awhile
On  my  return
Shafts  of  sunlight
Were  beaming  through  my  ­window
An  endless  blue  sky
Across  the  heavens
The  only  sou­nd  was  the  chiming
Of  a  nearby  church  clock

It was a warm and peaceful afternoon
