Youth
a mother's watchful eye.
she tells her children this:
go, fly -
be free.
the young are
first caressed,
then nudged,
and suddenly whisked away
against
their
wills
by
the
wind.
they will struggle,
as if they are drowning,
but with time,
the creatures
of the sky
will learn to
soar -
