The waves feel so distant this winter
I remember the sweat on my back
The long summer days
July was a quiet unforgiving god
She burned the tips of my fingers
Taught me something about humility
Nowadays I feel like some back road
Caught in the middle of a snow day
Unsalted and forgotten
I hope this ice melts away soon
