I knew the sunshine would help
Stepping outside on the porch
I felt the warmth inside myself
It was a flame like a torch
The rays hit me just right
Putting a smile on my face
I  stared up at the bright light
And it rescued me in it's grace
Wrapping it's loving arms around me
Holding tightly onto my wayward heart
There on the porch I could see
This orange bowl of fire had to depart
At once my mind began to wonder
Would I ever feel this way again
The darkness of night will be upon me
And there's no escape from it's hands
Then sleep takes a hold and I awake
To this bright star in it's place
At once I begin to smile
Knowing all is worth while
