Grass Stains and Mud Spots
Green smudges on a child's knees
As he falls into the grass
After playing in the trees
Dirt puddles on a child's pants
From rolling in the soil
But no one takes a second glance
Grass stains and mud spots
The wounds of a child's play
Maybe if our scars were only that
We'd all be okay
