Aug 2015
You gazed upon me as a child,
I gazed back powerful and mighty.
Immovable and permanent.
Proudly I stared down raging blizzards,
Others submitted, I stood firm.

Look upon me now,
Cut away I stand,
Once towering, soon forgotten.

No shade I can offer,
Nor shelter I give,
I stand,
Splendour and Majesty lost.

Remember me!
I once ruled this landscape.
You stared at me in awe.
Fleeting is this world,
Existing in constant impermanence.
