He promised Mama he would come back,
Before he left, three days after I was born
Now, still no sign of him, and I’m 18
But I will be here; I’ll keep waiting

No matter how long…
No matter where you are…
No matter what happens…

I don’t care if he already has a wife
Yes, it’ll be fine
I don’t care if he had children with her
Yes, I don’t mind

It’s him I want,
I won’t get mad
I would hug him tight;
Tightest of the hugs I’ve ever given to anybody else

I will wait, I promise
I just hope it won’t take forever
I will wait, because I promised I would
And I will wait, because
He promised Mama he would come back
