Even though my hands were cold
I felt the heat trying to break open my veins
As you laced your fingers around mine
And pulled my knuckles to your chest

I could have bottled the sound
Of the heartbeat I felt
Reverberating off my bones

Your thumb was no longer molded
By the teeth marks I created the night before
But instead it lightly circled my own

It would have been alright
If we stayed like that all day
