Flying Light
Dan Noble Sep 2018
Sometimes I wonder what it feels like
to be outside of this cynical stage called life.
Was it beautiful or nice,
that some ask for their early demise?

How could I be so pessimistic?
Well, I got no family - yes there is, but was it really?
I do not know, but all I stick to
is that I'm all alone in this world.

Sometimes I also wonder what it feels like
to carry on this stage called life.
I dreamed it to be beautiful and nice,
that I hope I wouldn't catch an early demise.

How could I be so optimistic?
Well, I may have no family to be with -
Yes, I got myself a loving companion,
but all I stick is that
if we can only build the world
around just the two of us,
that would be beautiful and nice.

That rests the case of a man,
It is I who lingers for love and affection of a family
but got myself more than that
in a woman I adored the most.

Mutual Strangers
Dan Noble Jun 2016
Wisp of silence holds us apart,
Where each tried to mend a broken heart.
But slowly you drifted away,
Now you’ve got nothing else to say.

A part of me wants to say sorry,
But the latter still reverses the story.
How come we’ve ended up like this,
To be strangers landed on abyss?

How are you doing my lover?
Have you experience the pain and sober?
Or instead your heart dampens in bliss,
While mine burrows the feeling I miss.

I can’t explain the feeling,
I also can’t see myself smiling.
But there you are, free like the bees,
     With me, reminiscing our memories.

Will we see and face each other again?
Waiting for you to come back all of a sudden.
Yes, I never wanted us to be strangers, then,
     But that’s exactly what happened.

The Passage
Dan Noble May 2016
To walk by the shadows lit,
Seems unwary of the open pit.
To fall is a premonition of hate,
But to stand up takes courage and a leap of faith.

To walk by the sandy dunes at noon,
We'll be blinded, not now, albeit soon.
To endure the journey isn't probable,
An oasis of hope is indeed favorable.

To walk by the hanging bridges,
Indeed tough, considering the broken pieces.
To pass means a choice between life, death, and crutches,
Hold on tight, and we'll be dauntless.

To walk by life is the greatest of them all,
   With challenges, everyone isn't tall.
To give up is nothing but cowardice,
Remember, you are the victory's missing piece.
The poem was created by this author last February 4, 2016. It is done for just an hour, while taking an examination to the author's major course in his BS Chemical Engineering field. Having the passion for writing, he still managed to create a poem rather than come up with a definite answer to the exam.

At least, the author tried. He may not be able to ace the exam well, but he created a piece that sums up what he feel right into the situation.

Lady In Vain
Dan Noble May 2016
Thou lady in vain who captured my heart away,
Of past to present, vicious days to stay.
Inseparable memories of our lasting years,
Still can't vanish and wept me into tears.

You're a beast in the hours of uncertainty,
That kills my love and devotion into pieces.
Instead of loving me back with caress and humanity,
Thou envy eyes stared to me, I'm coward and depressed.

But that ignorance of yours won't stumble me upon,
Even though my heart depends on you when you're gone.
I'll keep my heart grow'st fonder,
Days will keep longer, while my soul grows stronger.
