Live, Love, Forgive And Pray

      Sometimes I feel like a ship in the
Middle of a storm trying to stay a float
I fight back my tears with everything
I’ve got but there’s that lump in the throat

I wish I could be just like a river and
I could take the path of least resistance
But the heart inside of me refuses to
Yield and continues in its persistence

When the rain comes the river rises
And the gentle flow begins to rage
When times get tough in life if our story
Is to continue we must turn the page

Life is a journey and we never know what’s
Over the next hill or around the next bend
When the rest of the world lets us down
We know Jesus can be our only friend

This life is too short for our troubles and
Our past and tomorrow can be a better day
If we all take a deep breath and learn
To Live, Love, Forgive And Pray

someone gave uplift to my wings
carrying me off to the desert

there they spoke to my heart
and it is here that I dwell still

a daily listening
a moments breath.

so long as there is a breath to take
a silence to value

-the invisible will manifest love
in the actions and words of Mankind

lavish gifts of a shared reality
- the eternal Kingdom of God

the one with the gun can say all they want
and generally they will
but only so long as they have the gun

looking death in the eye
the dead staring out the mirror
a shadow a fleeting ghost.

deep in the lands of tomorrow
destiny holds open the gate
waits eternally for your return
watches for your footsteps
getting ever closer to home.

The Sun comes down to share my table
cheese, apple, sausage, nuts, bread, wine
Daystar spreads sunshine across my hands
-in and across my food, my heart
- a borrowed fire.
