They said,
Smile to the world
and the world will smile back to you.

So I smiled
But, you didn't smiled back at me.

I watch us change like the colors of the leaves on limping branches
We're unraveling like the string on your rolled up sleeve,

Separating.

I feel the crunch in your words each time I step the wrong way,
Leaving the wind to sweep all my breath away.

Our presence together can no longer stray the gloomy skies,
Leaving the crisp air to cool and things to die.

I see us wilt with the fading sun,
Slowly dying off with each passing day.

This is the time when seasons change,
The time when we wrap scarves around our faces
to mask the emotion we're desperately trying to hide,
Creating makeshift walls for what we're avoiding.

The change is inevitable, my dear
It's time to let nature takes its course.

Even if that means we freeze with the rain,

Falling to crack
I watch the stars dance above like fireflies on a summer night
The breeze takes my cares away and I am left with an awe that rustles  in the willows
It brings a scent that lingers like the warmth of a lovers embrace and a reflection which looms on the pond
And I stare for much too long knowing it will go away
Dancing among the grass the wind carries the chirping sounds of crickets as they converse their secrets to the night
And my heart swells with joy at sight of the radiant smile the moon shines down my being
A dancing memory on the shores of the cedar pond

Veterans, how can I say,
You fight for us,
Each and every day.
Sometimes we forget how lucky we are,
To have people who fight,
For those fifty stars.

We may forget what this day is about,
Sales on electronics isn't what it is about.
This day is about getting up to say,
We love you in every single way.

You risk your lives,
So children can play,
And we can go to church
Every Sunday.

Schools are there for the rich and poor.
Without you, our freedom would be no more.
So I guess what I am trying to say,
God bless you,
And happy Veteran's Day!
Sorry if it isn't good, I had to write it for school quickly, and our teacher had us type it on here.

I love you.
I will never abandon you
Like everyone else.
Never would I hurt you,
Unless you disobey me,
For I own you.
You are my property.
A little teddy bear I cuddle
And squeeze until your stuffing pops
Out from behind your eyes.
Your beautiful eyes.
Watch and observe.
Your body, disgusting
But able to do what I want.
I provide goals for you,
Something to do,
A challenge to accept.
No matter how many times
You cut the cord,
We will forever be attached.
I, as a newborn, a fetus,
Feeding off all that is you.
Or, I, as your mother,
Protecting you & entrapping you
Inside my womb.
Our lives depend on each other.
We are one.
United through your blood,
Your every breath.
I'm your best friend
Loyal and honest.
As long as you have me,
You need no one else.
Life is a puzzle;
you are trying to find all the pieces to it.
It seems like there is always just one missing,
or one does not fit.

You go on a journey
and go through trials and tribulations
searching for something
you feel you will never find.

You go on discovering things;
things that push you forward
and things that hold you back.

Sometimes you smile,
sometimes you want to give up.
But something keeps you going
because you crave the need for peace.

You look outside the box of the puzzle
and see that the piece you were looking for
was right next to you
and you let it slip away.

YOu find this piece of the puzzle
is soaked in water
from the glass you spilled
and it can never be replaced.

Unless,

You buy the puzzle again
and start over.
Another journey;
but it's possible.

Take it slow this time
and handle the pieces of your life
with care.

Everyone deserves another chance;
including you.
Proceed with caution though,
because third chances are rare.

Like fade to white, fade to black
snippets eroding in and out
flashes on the screen
obscured in white noise
your lips
nose
moans
am I dreaming
when I am awake
I drown in your dark hair
when I allow higher brain function
and your eyes
float on clouds for eternity
I feel more at ease in the night sky
looking down
sighing, my breath the wind upon this planet

Little glass vase,
rests quietly on the table,
sitting there,
it hasn't been used in years,
but yet it remains,
a center piece,
for an old little table.
Glass will always break,
it is far too delicate,
it will hit the floor,
and shatter,
and someone else will have to pick up,
the tiny sparkling pieces.
But no worries,
no one lives in that house,
it has been empty for years,
it used to hold,
a little family,
that loved that little vase,
the daughter would put,
many wildflowers inside,
creating a beautiful array,
of color.
The mother would organize them,
and add flowers of her own,
sometimes her and her daughter,
worked together,
carefully placing,
each little flower,
in the perfect little vase,
the father watched on,
with a gentle smile,
caressing his face,
as his wife placed,
a flower,
on his daughter's,
small nose.
It was a time,
where everything was perfect,
nothing was wrong,
it was beautiful,
but now the house is empty,
and no one knows why,
the shutters are closed,
and  no light shines through,
and that vase is alone,
with no flowers to be put inside,
and it sits there,
collecting dust,
of wasted time.
And that little vase,
it will never break,
unless some unseen force,
shatters it.
And then,
the earth rumbled beneath,
and the vase fell,
off the old table,
crashing in the dark house,
on the hard floor,
it should have shattered,
but it stayed there,
in one piece,
unbreakable.
