He never did quite understand
Hopes and dreams were out of hand
A fruitless life with nothing grand
He lived on barren land

He dragged himself throughout each day
Hopes and dreams had gone astray
He worked and worked with much dismay
He worked his life away

He drove home quickly down the street
Hopes and dreams still incomplete
He hit fate as he hit concrete
He'd love the woman that he'd meet

He saw her first in a speeding hall
Hopes and dreams had learned to crawl
He saw one savior amongst them all
He had begun to fall

He recovered in a white wall room
Hopes and dreams were in full bloom
He saw the nurse, and did assume
She could save him from his doom

She had eyes that could pierce straight through
Hopes and dreams were coming true
He saw that she could see it too
His world was now anew

She went with him though he was cured
Hopes and dreams had been procured
Her smile let him be reassured
A love had now matured

He needed her to be his wife
Hopes and dreams of such a life
He'd seen that lightning had struck twice
She was his paradise

And stubborn,
And somewhat self absorbed.
But you're gentle,
And careful,
And difficult to ignore.
So why can't I call you out on your annoying tendencies?
Do you feel the same way about me?
Do you rest your head on your pillow, and reminisce on the times we had?
Do you ever believe in fate?
Or that someday we can escape,
From this world we've grown too fond of?
Do you read between the lines,
And figure out my lies?
Do you ever cry?
Was there a time you fell in love,
With the simplicity of,
Something you can't describe?
Will you ever hold my heart,
Inside your arms,
And for once, tell me it's alright?
Because I can't forget the days,
When your face was not just a face,
But something so wonderful, I just could not describe.
Or will there be a day,
When all my dreams slip away,
And the home I created in your bed,
Will no longer be a home,
But a shallow hole inside your head,
Making you remember the times we spent,
Rather than forget?

We walked in silence,
Into a field after woods,
Suddenly— the moon.

Hush, little witch, don’t say a word;
They’re coming with fire and rope
To tie you to the radiator.

Speak softly, little witch,
Hide away your hat and cloak;
The cat mustn't mew in the corner,
And you must sweep the floors.

The hearts of mortals are weak,
they see shadows and devils within you.
Hush, little witch, quiet your angels.

Feed them lies, little witch,
Don’t let them see you!
The truth will not set you free, here, it will let you burn!
For all your power to do good, they are blind, little witch;
Let them see with your eyes, but pretend they are not yours.

Oh, child why are you crying?
You were born into madness
And you will die in madness,
Lest you  end in fire.

Servants of love, this is our curse;
Our horrible and beautiful curse.
I’m sorry.
This isn’t what I wanted for you,
But it’s the price we pay to be angels.

I'm not sure what I believe in anymore
Whether it be a god or humanity or myself
I'm not sure what I stand for
But I know I refuse to be walked on
God says he want his children to be meek and humble
But in this world
It is hard to be meek
It is hard to be humble
In a technology ridden world that requires grit and arrogance

I want to taste your tantalizing kiss
under the dazzling moonlight
under the trees and glistening leaves
for they illuminate your eyes in the dark
for they shine so bright
against the glowing night light

I want to feel your touch
to run your hands against my skin
veins covered between thin lines
your warmth surrounding my soul

Light a candle
Stay at my side
Sing me a lullaby
Till sleep overtakes me
Make me a bed
Of earthen walls
My spirit is light
My body is heavy
