let me drown my sorrows
in your eyes
moving
above me

sunlight
shadows
taking turns to caress
our skin
the wind
stirring the leaves
in the autumn

don't close your eyes
you are
about to save me

I'll let your voice wash over me
Like a sweet symphony

I'll let your body blanket me
Let our scents mingle

I'll let your words heal me
While the taste lingers

I'll fall for you all over again
With any luck, it'll never end

I'll surrender to this lovely forever
Play tricks on our eternity

I'll let your touches fill the void
You'll be my medication

I'll hold you closer than before
And feel all your warmth

We'll be comforted by the knowledge
That this love is our infinity
I’ve been on this train for God knows how long
And the river beside us never seems to end
The sky has been bruised for the last seventeen hours
Honestly I don’t know what to make of it anymore
Smoke hangs in each of our lungs
The windows are all locked
They offer no relief
All I can do anymore is sleep and dream
To me that is enough because I see her there
She wears a little white dress that stops just above her knees
Dancing ankle deep in a lake I’ve never been to
A tiara made from white roses sits delicately on her head
The contrast of the flowers and her soft red hair is striking
She smiles and holds her hand out to me
I want to go out to her
To take her in my arms and hold her
But I know I will stumble and wake again
As it has been every time before
For now seeing her has to be enough
*~W.C.
In my darkest hour, by the rage of sun,
I met her in a shower of April days,
Riding to the moon in twined études,
The dry chrysalis of winter shells
Gave way to lightness, glaze,
The rain in our eyes, amaze,
Her voice as it fluted, broke,
Like feathers from a wandering bird,
Were my wings of iridescence and joy
And we were blind when we were born,
We were blind as bells of floating grace,
Lived forever by such a new shore,
Such ends of buzzing time,
As May flies.

someday i'll
fall asleep
to the sound
of your heartbeat.
Stop blaming the weather for why you've become so cold.

Slumbered scratching into a bedside notebook
lying in darkness under a thick blanket of revelation
Afraid that lamplight may blind these 3am eyes
to the dim, wispy glow of mystical comprehension

Trusting that valued mysteries will later be deciphered
from this barely legible scrawl of the night
Refusing to squander such moments of divine lucidity
captured in a poetic hand written outside the lines

Reluctant to wait until morning lest the light of day
exposes a tenuous relationship to reality
Causing rays of enlightenment to glance off its surface
in beams of obscure and superficial logic

Tangential truths
   scribbled in the dark

that we exist
that we are whole
that we are worthy
that we are accepted
that we are respected
that we are connected
that we are appreciated
that we are of consequence

that we even matter at all...
I pledge allegiance to the way
you stare off into the distance.
And to the headaches that you get
when your stress replaces your skull.
Perpetually,
Unconditionally,
without ever a hesitation in my heart.
