I’m reddish-brown and gorgeous,
My long arms can hold and swing,
I’m the largest arboreal animal,
And my loud call I often sing,
It’s no surprise I’m “person of the forest”,
With my fingers and my thumbs,
I have a natural rhythm,
My body is full of the beating of the drum.

there was once a emu he just longed to fly
just like all the other birds high up in the sky
emu spent his life just walking on the ground
all he had to do was walk around and round
he  very tall and rather heavy to
and wished that he could fly in the sky so blue
one day when he was walking he had a little thought
that he would by some wings and from a store he bought
strapped  them to  his body and flapped them very fast
emu he was happy he could fly at last
he took off in the sky and had a fly around
then came in for his landing  heading for the ground
he was really as happy and so full off glee
now a flying emu just like he longed to be
Cat sits behind cage
Bored
Man comes in
Cat leaps up
Tries to catch his coattails
Snags his heart instead

Cat sleeps on couch
Content
Man comes in
Cat wakes up
Swats away his gentle hand
Signing it in red

Cat hunts in field
Brave
Man comes out
Cat pounces down
Returns to comfort of house
Victim having fled
For the lion cub who snagged my heart.
The autumn wind
Blows chill this morn
On the hill of Sanu
Where you should be passing:
My garb I'd lend you, if I could.

For seventy or more years TV
And radio ruled the world,
Along with telephones.
But then computers made their mark,
Soon followed by mobiles, Smartphones,
Ipads, Bluetooth, Wifi and who knows what?
In no particular order.

So herds of sheep migrated
Into Cyberspace
Even Myspace!
Then on to Planet Facebook
And Terratwitter.

We talk with people we’ve never met,
And meet folk with whom we’ve never talked.
It keeps us occupied I guess,
And gives relief from stress.

These images that yet fresh images beget,
I’m sure Yeats would agree.
I tolerate these adverts flashing in my face
And soak up knowledge to my solid mental grace.

A world of wonders beckons in
The depths of Cyberspace,
And as a Nerd before they were invented,
I have to say I’ve truly found my place.
