Fond Remembrances
The months, the years, so swift pass by
And often, I have pondered as to why
We can't slow them as they fly
Some moments, to savor longer
Many pleasant times that I recall
When I wasn't very old at all
Flat on my back to grass I'd fall
To watch cotton clouds, float by
Then other times, from memories sweet,
At end of day with summer's heat,
My dad would bring us kids a treat
And let us make some sodas
But now we're older, me and you
Unsure of what it is we do
To retain the warmth of love so true
With which our Lord, has blessed us
These are the good old days, my dear,
That we'll recall in distant year
A soft, sweet song is what we'll hear
As we remember them, together
