"Cheers!" To the heavens!

Chrysanthemums igniting

The night's cobalt skies.
Repost, happy 4th 2017.

Like it's never mind about the two minds you're in
I've found that the second mind pays scant attention to the first,

my mind tells me,
don't mind about it
you'll get over it
the second of the two minds
tell me,
**** it
don't listen to it,

feels like Jiminy Cricket
jumped ship.

At least I'm on the move
out,
if the out is on the way in
sinking.

Despair?
well
that grabs you right there
in the pit
doesn't it?

in a bit someone will kiss
it better,
I hope so.

Another mind don't mind
which is a kind way
to say
nothing.

are you kind?
In the right mind?
and which mind would
that be?

this is my fight
in which
right and wrong
do not belong,
there is only the
outcome
which is like income
but
In reverse .

A touch of pseudo
you know,
psychology?
so
study me.

Jesus
I'm tired
but
there's no higher power
in third class
only candle power
and
flames that flicker.

One day I'll jump,
a
zoom with a view.

sleeping
alert
keeping the hurt
in mind,
only
never sure which
mind that is.

Mama Why

Mama it's time for the fair
Mama why can't we go
Someone opened fire on innocents
And about it they weren't slow

Mama it's time for the concert
Mama why are you so afraid
There's risk just listening to music
Grimmie was shot on her own stage

Mama why's that good cop dead
He can't come back to his daughter
Now I'll never know my cousin
And that's another who's lost a father

Mama what's with the wealthy
They seem to have all the life hacks
They are people out there starving
And the rich barely pay tax

Mama look that man's gay
Hey that other one is black
People don't hesitate with violence
But it is love that they hold back

Mama I wanna learn history
I wanna know what people did before
Mama why is there so much blood
Why did people start so many wars

Mama will things ever change
Is there anything peaceful in store
There's a lot that is still the same
If anything people fight more

Mama why do these things happen
Mama why do so many people die
Mama why are people so cruel
It's enough to make me cry

Mama will we be ok
Are there enough of us to stand tall
People now fight fire with fire
And I fear it'll destroy us all

Mama why are people mad at God
They blame Him for human's sting
They ask why His own creations act this way
He probably wonders the same thing

Mama why can't we show compassion
Mama why are we in this state
Mama why can't we love
Mama why do we hate

The occasion called for goodbye
The anticipated day of their imminent separation
Penciled in thoughts that she could not say
A folded up love letter
Demanded closure
A slight of hand
Last time
An uncertain wave
A sip of bitter realization
From the lips of yesterday
She saw through his smile
Deep into the hollow shell
The former home of creation
To the shallow eyes of submission
Clawing through layers of freshly painted on make up
The kind of mask that won't come off

Ritual cycle
Eat,  sleep and repeat
Fight,  sweat, beg and bleed
Cordless and bored
Can't afford a more important course
Tour the tunnels
Force the worm to sacrifice itself
Sleep away the overwhelming since that this is all there is
Ego is greedy and never satisfied
The destroyer, must avoid her
Try not to stare into her eyes
Fall in slow motion into a comfortably numb existence
The silence of revelation
The deadend of procrastination
The hollow beat of hearts encased captivity

Of your flowery features,
I am student and teacher.
I am learning to love you
like deep-breathing ether.

You pick me a peony
and cite similarities—
colors and frills,
and pretty, apparently.
You tell me,
regarding
its duo
of shades,
what tempted your fingers
and called out my name:

The lighter of petals,
the curl
of your lip.
The dark, all your freckles
and dots.
I have fallen
in love
with your features
just like those
of flowers—
Please forget
me not.
