Don't put your plastic

The fish think

Technology is here to stay
Nobody cares as long as you pay
Sometimes fast and mostly slow
keeping you 'on the go'
Patience needed all the time
trying to make poetry rhyme
One day it may be better
every single little letter

"You are not eating properly"
We don't say that to the birds
Do we?

Suddenly  gone  very  quiet  here.

Birds  and  animals  quiet  too.
No  morning  chorus.

Nice drop of rain Wednesday evening
will help the garden flourish
nice crop of Red Skin potatoes
No leeks this year to nourish
Keith Wilson Feb 2020
It's dark and dismal outside
as behind my window I hide
The rain comes down far and wide
nothing stops it, there is no guide
Rivers burst in their banks
Tidal waves all around
There's no boundaries, there's no thanks
water covering all the ground
People flooded in their homes
mopping up all alone
wading through the swirling foam
getting frozen to the bone
It will stop one day
but it seems we've all to pay

It seems like a real dream
often better than reality
We wake up to a dreary world
Let's dream on

Nightmares not good
but life can be hell on earth

Sammy Turpin one fine day
Took his go—cart out to play.

While speeding quickly down a hill
A passing fly his eye did fill.

He couldn’t see two yards ahead
And landed in a hospital bed.

The nurse was very sympathetic
The fly was extremely energetic.

The doctor came with his stethoscope
But it wasn’t long before he gave up hope.

The consultant came to get it out
But he was never in there with a shout.

Just then the gardener passing by
Raised his leaf blower to the sky.

The air came in just like a rocket
And blew the fly from Sammy’s socket.

l He isn’t the gardener anymore
He’s chief consultant on ward four.

Is it true what the scientists say
That life on earth will end one day?

I guess that they are probably right
There'll be no day, there'll be no night

The ozone layer is full of holes
Rising temperatures melting ice floes

Will we perish in enormous Floods?
The thought of it just chills the blood

Or will earthquakes bury us out of sight
Will fire devour us without a fight?

Storm and tempest, some folk say
Will make us kneel in final prayer

The forecast? Now  I'll give you mine:
It will end in two thousand and seventy nine

I was busy
gluing pictures
into my scrapbook
when I came across
a lovely one
of a blackbird

I pasted it
in an instant

I found out that
Epiphany
was on January sixth

I also made a tryst
with the girl next door

Goodbye Keith Wilson
We will miss you here
at Birthwaite Bards you brought us cheer
Always remembering the good old days
Lost loves
sometimes new
How many can you remember?
Twenty one or twenty two?
We had a laugh with stories you told
and poems so bold
Birthwaite Bards feel a loss
We'll remember you dearly
Happy days!

Did you really have to go?
I'm left behind and miss you so
It's been a long, long time

You said you had to go to foreign climes
But you're always on my mind
Did you really have to go?

You left me sad
And I feel bad
It's been a long, long time

Do you ever think of me
When you are far beyond the sea
Did you really have to go?

I dream of you both day and night
Although you're very far away
It's been a long, long time

Please come back. I need you so
A sun to shine and river's flow
It's been a long, long time

Its a lovely spring morning
I'm looking out
at a blossoming cherry tree
The sun casting shadows
across the lawn
A row of *** plants
baking in the morning sun
some flowering
and some still dormant
A slight breeze starting to pick up
What else can I say?
The weather seems set fair.

We have all written
a poem
on stones
sprinkled
in the garden
The ink is unaffected
by the weather
however
Nobody seems to care
Perhaps
we should put them
on show
somewhere
