Soul of Utah
Keeley Aug 2016
Lines trace themselves into my palms
Cracks deepen as the sandy dirt dries
Hair flutters and flickers in wind
Green grasses dance in whispers

Grated teeth withhold heavy meaning
The salt of brine sets water still
Kind natured words flee from flora lips
In the valley green, mountains rise

Will, and
Keeley Aug 2016
Will this pick me apart
And pull at my seams?

Restraining my heart
Is constraining me to dreams

Will the stars align
And the moon call my name?

Feels like winning's a sign
That I've cheated the game

Will hope take a hold
And courage take me?

Dreams may grow old
As true reality

Will the house watch and wait
And the trees grow tall?

With a deal so great
Do I dare stay small

Soon we will see
Which I will pick

If you ask me
My feet are pretty quick

Rocket Kid
Keeley Apr 2016
Rocket kid
She's gonna fly
Rocket kid
She doesn't cry
Shoulders never wracked with fear
Stars are falling far and near
Doesn't mean she doesn't feel
It just means she knows what's real
Rocket kid
She's burning bright
Rocket kid
She's out of sight

Mountain hues
Keeley Feb 2016
I am a mountain
My edges untamed
These forests entangled
Are thoughts in my brain

These caves in my rock
Where silly things dwell
These spaces all within me
Hold feelings as well

Now slopes may dishearten you
For it's such a steep climb
But grasp the roots of faith
And you will scale them in time

I am a mountain
From where you stand, I look grey
But if you climb a little higher
You'll see where worlds of color lay
