Winter eternal
Darkest night
Just before spring
Farmers know
Fallow prepare the ground
The earth wages it’s tail
Day and night

Fallow preps me too
In the midst of busy
before collapse, sit down
Have faith in spring
Stillness the batteries
in our own flashlight
A little light enough
Bush the button, look around

We all lean a little off plum
Swaying to the music
of a manipulating song.
Songs played on
jukeboxes for profit
Songs leading us like sheep
to green pastures to fatten us,
Drunk on the elixirs of illusion
Ready to follow the wrong God home
Sliding from off plum to crazy

It’s a struggle to keep from being
overwhelmed by the tribe.
Being yourself is harsh living
You will be lonely, frightened,
and tossed around
Yet, no price is to high for the
privilege of finding yourself.

Dark iris
veins tainted
and seaside dreams
guide me into
your nights

When my veil
is thin, and the truth
is floating in the
elusive wind

I follow the noise
and seek the storm
for my youth evades me
with each passing sigh

Dark iris
and burning pupils of desire,
I follow you to the unknown
place of worship

I pray to the dark moon
in awe of the sight
and dream of him
in black and white

universal tide

the sleeping god awakens
opening the heart gate
of unrefined love as
he watches her protect
the children of the earth

she groans in slow frustration
knowing she can't do more
bound by shackles forged
in the cold fires of disbelief
by her self-absorbed offspring

blinded by an unattainable horizon
they look to the sky for guidance
not understanding that
the help they desperately need
embraces them where they stand

so the time-bound round continues
the ebb and flow of seas and love
the rise and fall of leaders and nations
the mountains that once were valleys
in this place only circles live forever
the tide of life is
ever rising and
ever falling

ride the wave
