Happiness is a cake
with lots and lots of icing
There's no salad you can make
that can be as enticing

It's wonderful for sharing
can be eaten any place
and you can get away with wearing
some of it on your face

and after the party ends
and you've blown out all the candles
you can eat the rest without any pants
wearing nothing but your sandals

Your words
shape themselves
into blades and knives
and carve
deep into my heart,
the places I didn't know
existed.
Should I be glad that
I found new places
or
sad that I'm hurt?

Its been a while
Writing was my only smile,
Then came life
And now i’ve lost my drive,

It’s easy to laugh
On others behalf,
but the confusion that’s found, inside my heart
Made me forget why we’re five feet apart.

I don’t know if this poem makes sense,
But i am writing this with great suspense
I was once sure what my life was like,
But know i am as lost as a child in the dark.

love wills to enter the pain
to sit with the suffering
in unison with the poor
experience injustice
to be mocked, tortured
spat upon, called names
finally violently murdered

Can we groove together?
Can we cruise through the seas of love
and never come to a cease?
Can I spend my life intertwined in your vibe?
I can’t hide the way I feel about you.

You make me believe that I can do anything.
I’m not the same anymore.
You have put your charm on me,
and it feels so unbelievably magnificent.
You have stung me with your dreamy song,
and I long to feel even more.
