Captain Rackstraw ~
Log entry 05
Today off the cost of shantytown, we saw a group of pirate ships passing by. They did not give us any trouble; in fact, they even offered to buy some fish from us. You see the pirates are not the bloodthirsty group of thieves that many British officers portray them to be. They are only strong-willed men who dare to venture the great sea and make their fortunes by praying upon the naval fleets. If only they could be remembered for the strong souls they are.

Captain Rackstraw ~
Log entry 04

To the grave shall I take these letters. The British navy must never find them, if they do all of the legends will crumble and be forgotten as ancient myths. You see the sea monsters are real, I’ve seen them with my own eyes. I have seen the power of the Steipereidur, a massive monster-whale like creature. The cowards that call themselves the “British Navy” would have you believe that it is a merciless beast that leaves no one left alive when it attacks. On the contrary it is the savior of us simple fishermen. The Steipereidur fights for us against other creatures that mean us harm, (this includes of course the British thieves.) That is the main reason the Navy wishes to have people hunt the gentle giant, they fear her.

Point of View
Joseph Mart Apr 2017
On this front there are many different views,
And when they are disputed sometimes they're ignited like a fuse.
Fire is thrown everywhere just like the propellant from a flamethrower Sides are taken and walls are built similar to Trump and a SpanishVoter.
Then there are the ones who choose no side
They believe that one person doesn't make a difference
But in the end, it is all of those single people who make up the world
They make up society, laws, government, and schools.
Now think to yourself and ask, "What if they're all corrupt?"
If they are, we are being slowly but surely poisoned with no hope to reconstruct.

- Just some food for thought.

Now? No later.
Joseph Mart Mar 2017
I sit at my desk,
I stare with astonishing grotesk,
An assignment was due but who knew?
Certainly not me for I had been dreaming,
I was enveloped in my own little fantasy,
This fantasy was fascinatingly fantastic,
It certainly was of the best for it included dragons and magic.
Soon the dragons faded and the magic was dwindling,
They were leaving me behind because they were leaving my mind.

A Worth while adventure
Joseph Mart Mar 2017
It all started off so sudden,
Just with little chats that is,
But soon those chats turned into long nights,
Staying awake with purpose for some may grow tiring,
Showing such commitment for some must be unpleasant,
However for me the nights grew shorter and I experienced enjoyment.
The days were long and happy,
But you see happiness never lasts forever,
As soon a disagreement was remembered,
There was no need to quarrel though since soon it was dismembered,
The happiness returned and all grew calm once more.
There it was again..a problem,
She said she couldn't see the future.
At first I shed a tear,
While having to admit I had sinned in fear.
Having lost it all,
Alone for a period of days letting out a "small shriek",
The sadness settled in and I had gotten weak.
Things spiraled out of control,
Before I knew it I was begging for her back,
I don't know why she took me up again,
All that is for certain was simply not to complain.
It all started over from the start it seemed,
The nights grew short again for quite awhile this time,
Alas as you can probably guess it did not last,
The nights were getting colder without her by my side,
After all the rules and regulations did not coincide.
We were drifting apart,
If only we could both feel that she was my artificial heart,
Even now I do not know if she understood my motives,
Or the role she played in keeping me together with emotion.
All though now we barely talk and reside in different plains,
I hope she'll realize that in my soul she will remain.

Waste
Joseph Mart Mar 2017
The long day goes on with hardly a glimpse in our direction,
Whether your job is education or perfection,
At the end we all feel it creeping up behind,
For some they can delay it,
Others merely give in to their desire,
For me I utterly despise it as being a waste entirely,
But whether you choose to fight with heavy resistance,
Or simply to retire,
All efforts are exhausted we all are forced to fade,
After all, sleep can only be delayed.

Change
Joseph Mart Mar 2017
At first the sands flow smoothly,
They go passing by,
You innocent young devil,
Knowing not how lucky you are to thrive,
Soon you will grow older and begin to whine,
The sands will stop passing by so smoothly,
They will whip about and bite,
for as you have grown older,
Developing the idea how to fight,
The struggles gotten stronger as you push back against the wind,
Soon the hourglass will break and the sands will be released,
Scattered across oblivion no one will remember how they were pleased.

Curiosity
Joseph Mart Mar 2017
I lay in bed contemplating,
After awhile finally realizing,
There was no gain from meditating,
We are all slaves to the cruel mistress,
Her name being a mystery,
No one knows and no one can answer,
There is freewill but without satisfaction,
We are all slaves so why do we wonder?

Bleak
Joseph Mart Feb 2017
Walking down the street,
I stop and stare and weep,
There on the wall before me,
Was posed a curiosity,
An abyss with no end,
Or perhaps just an extension of nothingness,
All that was truly known is that it seemed bright as night,
As time slowly crept away I was noticed by a stranger,
He inquired why the snowman provoked me so,
All I could reply was "I simply do not know."
