He stood on the grassland of Ledi Geraru.

The sky was a vast expanse of melancholic gray
and the crimson blue light made the night imminent.

Each twilight his feet felt the kiss of the dewy shrub
as he waited for the first star to come out
that in a hushed sweep descended as peace.

He would raise his finger to the sky
and upon the river of his eyes
the star broke into fragments of tears.

He was slowly dying
but a greater him was to tread the grassland.

His eyes weren't found.

Only his jaws still stuck with the beauty
were dug up from the stardust.
A fossil jaw plucked from the badlands of Ethiopia—points to East Africa as the birthplace of our evolutionary lineage.
The site where the jaw was found, called Ledi-Geraru, was a mix of grasslands and a few shrubs 2.8 million years ago.
This write draws inspiration from the above.

Meg
do not call me "cutie."
if you're lucky enough to call me anything,
call me beautiful.
extraordinary.
amazing.
call me spectacular.
i want to be a force of nature.
wild.
untamed.
i want to be remarkable.

i do not want to be "cute"

Patio umbrella waving like a fan
Beer numbing my face, nightly planned
I hear broken music from an ice cream truck
I hear the thunder as it struck
Almost like a demented fairytale plucked from my imagination
God's ****** up creation
A gorgeous mess with a yellow and pink sunset dress
Slowly, we watch night
The look lies as the heat hugs tight
The smell of peppermint suffocating memories
You take another sip and try to remind yourself to live
To bad your kindergarten ambitiousness ended in a bottle with lipstick stuck to the rim

I am a woman
Dyed blond
Peer pressure I guess
Nice *****
I don't conform
Not because I'm informed
I'm padded room crazy
A wild Daisy
My hair represent the free spirit
Then I cut it off in rebellion
I will light you on fire
You never were a desire
Leave me, I wont be crying
You always be wondering
I'm that insane chick that keeps you staring
Just having a little fun
We fight,
With such might,
We lose sight,
Of the light.
Day turns to night,
Drowning in plight,
As hearts fill with spite.
Anger to ignite,
Flames to new height.
The fire burns bright.
All this despite,
Trying to do right....

So give up this fight.
Use knowledge not might.
Give blind back their sight.
Share all inner light,
To take back the night.
Humble in plight,
In spite of one's spite.
Peace will ignite.
Raise all to new height.
Thoughtful minds will be bright.
All this despite,
Admitting we're wrong.

I spend my time thinking
but all it brings is drinking
even with my eyes unblinking
I don't have an inkling

I spend my time creating
the gates of my debating
hating my own procrastinating
it's only time I'm wasting

I spend my time drinking
but all it brings is thinking
when my mentality is shrinking
I don't have an inkling
